Supervised Consumption

Supervised consumption is an NHS service where some patients receive and take their medications at regular intervals. Primarily, the service supports the rehabilitation of people from substance dependency. Holdenhurst Pharmacy provide this service for supervised consumption in Bournemouth!

The service is funded by the NHS so that means it’s free for the patient.

How does the supervised consumption service work?

You come into the pharmacy at certain times in line with your prescription. There, you will take your medication under the supervision of one of our pharmacists.

The aim of the service is to support and enable the recovery of the patients. So, we will always treat you in a friendly, non-judgmental and confidential manner. We are here to help you get better.

We can provide support and advice and, if necessary, refer you to other specialist centres that may be able to help you further.

If you would like us to provide this service for you, please contact us or speak to a member of staff.
